Oprah Goes to Ethiopia

Liya Kebede visited the Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia

Tune in on December 1, 2005.

Oprah traveled 7,000 miles to Ethiopia to get a firsthand look at the hospital where a modern-day saint helps girls who are suffering the unimaginable. Last year Oprah met Dr. Catherine Hamlin, a Nobel Peace Prize nominee who has devoted nearly 50 years providing free reconstructive surgery to more than 25,000 African girls and women suffering from fistulas at the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital that she opened with her late husband, Reginald.

Also, Ethiopian supermodel Liya Kebede talks about her work with the Fistula Hospital.

Ato Arkebe Ekubay, the defeated mayor, who was present with Oprah during the inauguration of the Fistula Hospital last year, still maintains his mayorship at this moment illegally and is one of the four squad leader terrorizing the city.

Please inform Oprah that Berhanu Nega, the newly elected mayor of Addis Ababa and opposition leaders and journalists are currently in jail without any charges.

Write to Oprah now to let her know about the plight of our people.
