Ethiopian Airlines to Buy Up to Ten Boeing 787 Dreamliners

Boeing and Ethiopian Airlines today announced a preliminary agreement for up to 10 Boeing 787 Dreamliner passenger planes that will make the airline the first Africa-based operator of the super-efficient, all-new jetliner.

This is a good thing...
The airplane will use 20 percent less fuel than today's airplanes of comparable size, and provide customers with up to 45 percent more cargo revenue capacity.

This new aircraft, called dreamliner( Boeing 787) will transform ET's operation. Primarily Ethiopian will be able to operate its North American destination, Washington DC non stop. Meaning ET will not pay for landing fees on this route. This inturn will shorten the flight by about 1.5 hours increases profitability. The aircraft will allow higher cargo loads than presnt aircraft as it can fly higher and longer than current planes. As it will be made mainly with composite material( light and strong body part) and a new efficient engine .
