Hailu Shawel Hospitalized

Ethiopian Review reports that CUD leader, Hailu Shawel is seriously ill. He was taken to a hospital yesterday (December 13). The unjustly imprisoned leader has been on a hunger strike since November 28.

Ethiopian Media Forum is also reporting that he was taken to a hospital for treatment, but had been denied medical attention. “This is a deliberate attempt to physically harm Mr. Hailu Shawel.” Their reporter added, “EPRDF authorities have denied intense medical assistance to Mr. Hailu Shawel and other CUD leaders.”
