Int'l Conference on Seed Trade

AzerTaj -- International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas / ICARDA/ in combination with the Turkish Seed Industry Association (TURKTED) has held an international conference on seed trade in Antaliya, Turkey, the press release of the Ministry of Agriculture reads.

The conference brought together representatives of the governmental and private sectors of England, Turkey, France, Japan, Germany, Egypt, Ethiopia, Greece, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and other countries of Central Asia.

Azerbaijan was represented here by Director General of Agrarian Science Center Asad Musayev.

The conference aims to study seed trade opportunities in the countries of Central and West Asia and North Africa (CWANA). The conference participants highly appreciated experience of Turkey in this area. They heard reports on such topics as current state of seed industry, influence of international agreements on development of seed trade, legislative issues for development of seed trade and others.
